Copies of building plans

Find information on how to request building plans for approved structures in the City of Joondalup. Most of the City’s building plans are held in micro-fiche format. Where available, the city can provide landowners with copies of site plan, floor plan and elevations.

Who can apply

• Property owners: Requests are limited to individuals officially recognised as the property owner in the City's records.
• Authorised representatives: Written authorisation from the property owner is required for representatives to request copies.

How to apply

• Download and complete the application form below.
• Submit your completed application form with fee payment through one of the following:
  • In person: Drop by the City of Joondalup Administration Centre, located at 90 Boas Avenue, Joondalup.
  • By email: Forward your application to info@joondalup.wa.gov.au.
  • By post: Send it to PO Box 21, Joondalup WA 6919.

Application fees

Fees vary based on the type of plan and are as follows:

• Residential Full Set (includes site plan, floor plan, and elevations): $70.00 per full set
• Partial residential set (site plan or floor plan only): $32.10
• Commercial full set (includes site plan, floor plan, and elevations): $98.90 per full set
• Commercial additional copy/page: $50.40
• Viewing fee (for building plans): $20.10

Processing your application

The processing time can extend up to 10 working days, after which copies will be emailed or posted to you.

Conditions

• Verification of identity may be necessary to confirm your eligibility.
• Release of plans requires the property owner's signature on the application.
• Plans from before 1970 may not be accessible.
• In cases where plans are unavailable or unclear, the request fee is non-refundable.
• Properties in strata, duplexes, or similar arrangements require consent from relevant parties.
• While the City strives to provide high-quality copies, the condition of original plans may affect the output.
• Applications missing required information will be returned.
• Full payment is required with your application.
