Bike riding
The City aims to make bike riding a part of everyday life in the City. The City promotes, celebrates and supports bike riding so we can achieve our vision of a bike friendly city.
Walking
The City has many safe and accessible walking trails and footpaths to encourage walking as an active mode of transport across the City. Walking areas span the entire City region and cover both urban and natural environments, such as the Joondalup City Centre, suburban shopping precincts, natural bushland areas, and along the sunset coast.
Public transport
The Joondalup Central Area Transit (CAT) Bus is a free service and runs in two directions between the Joondalup Train Station, the Joondalup Health campus, the City Centre (including the Joondalup Civic Centre) and the Learning Precinct; incorporating Edith Cowan University, North Metropolitan TAFE and the Police Academy.

Electric vehicles
Electric vehicles provide a sustainable and environmentally friendly travel option. The City Centre has three charging stations for electric vehicles (EV) across Lakeside Shopping Centre and Reid Promenade Car Park. There are also EV charging stations across suburbs in the City.
