Find your bin collection days
The three-bin system helps manage general waste, recycling and garden organics efficiently. To find your bin collection day, please enter your residential address below.
When and how to put your bins out
Ensure your bins are placed on the kerb by 6am on your designated collection day, positioned for easy access by collection services.
Important note: The red bin is collected weekly, while the yellow and lime green bins are serviced on alternate weeks, allowing you to present two bins each week.
How to use your bins
The following provides general guidance on what can and cannot go in each bin. For more advice visit the A-Z Waste Disposal Guide web page.
The general waste bin is collected weekly and taken to Tamala Park landfill.

If you find that your bin is consistently overflowing:
-
Ensure that you're separating your waste correctly: recyclable materials should go into your yellow-lid bin, and garden organics into your lime green-lid bin. This can significantly reduce the amount of general waste in your red-lid bin.
-
Compact your recyclables to save space and break down large items like cardboard boxes.
-
Take additional green waste to the Wangara Greens Recycling Facility for free with a greens tipping voucher. To find out more visit the green waste disposal page.
-
Consider an upgrade to a larger or additional bin (fees may apply).

This program involves attaching tags to our general waste (red lid), recycling (yellow lid), and garden organics (green lid) bins. These tags will give a quick indication - through a happy or sad face - on how well the contents of each bin are sorted, along with suggestions for improvement. Since its start in Western Australia in 2015, bin tagging has greatly helped communities enhance their recycling efforts and reduce the wrong items being placed in bins.
No, the garden organics bin is for garden green waste only. Please only place loose garden organic waste in this bin. Please place food waste in the general waste (red lid) bin.
Dispose of food scraps in your general waste (red lid) bin or consider home composting. Visit the Waste Sorted website to access a beginner’s guide to composting.
For further information regarding composting food scraps please contact the City's Waste Education team on 9400 4077.
