Entries for the Invitation Art Prize 2025 are now closed.  Artists will be notified by end of January 2025.

After its 25-year retrospective, the eagerly awaited return of the Prize marks an exciting new model of the acquisitive award, with shortlisted artists to exhibit at the City of Joondalup’s new gallery space opening in 2025.

Shortlisted artists will receive payment to produce a new body of work that will go in the running for the $25,000 acquisitive prize, with the winning artwork acquired into the City of Joondalup’s Art Collection.

Artist entries are open from Monday 21 October - Wednesday 4 December 2024, or until the maximum number of 150 entries is received. Applications will be reviewed by an external arts industry panel and assessed on the merit of the artist’s practice and their potential development of the City’s collection, contributing to its evolving character, identity and value.

Throughout its long-standing history, the Invitation Art Prize has showcased high-calibre artists working across different practices, mediums and lived experiences. To be held in October 2025, the exhibition celebrates the state’s visual arts community and offers a distinctive snapshot into contemporary art from the region.
