Here at the City of Joondalup, arts and culture play a significant role in connecting our communities, promoting a sense of belonging, and creating a vibrant place to live.

Cultural Plan
We are committed to providing arts and cultural activities that reflect Joondalup’s vision of being ‘A Global City: Bold, Creative, and Prosperous’.
Our Cultural Plan has been developed through community consultation and provides strategic direction for all arts and cultural events and activities, as well as the City’s aspirations for growing its creative economy.
To ensure that the City’s investment continues to be directed towards the programming and infrastructure most valued by the community, we’ll be reviewing our Cultural Plan again from 2025.
A song for Joondalup
Paying homage to our unique and incredibly special part of the world, Joondalup Festival 2025 saw the commissioning of a special project to create a song for our community and future generations to enjoy.
The project, called Joondalup Warangka (Joondalup Song), brought together the talents of the West Australian Opera, celebrated singer-songwriters Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse, and acclaimed producer Boox Kid, with inspiration drawn from the stories and experiences of local residents. The end result was a mesmerizing blend of Noongar language and contemporary music that pays homage to the significance of Lake Joondalup in Noongar culture and history.
We have made Lake Joondalup - The Lake that Glistens free to download. We've also provided the lyrics and musical score so that this beautiful song can be learned and played throughout the community for years to come.
Arts and cultural program
Each year we deliver a rich program of both free and ticketed events, activities and exhibitions at different locations throughout the region for both our residents and visitors to enjoy.
