Benefits of a Land Purchase Inquiry
A Land Purchase Inquiry offers insights into:
- Issued building permits for the property.
- Property zoning and density as per Local Planning Scheme No. 3.
- Information on any proposed road widening or treatments.
- Advice on rates and charges.
- Other potential concerns.
Important advice for potential buyers
When drafting an Offer and Acceptance for a property you're interested in, we recommend including a clause that requires the seller to present evidence of all structures and land uses being approved by the City.
For properties identified at risk of coastal hazards within the next century, a coastal hazard alert will be included in your Land Purchase Inquiry.
For additional information on purchasing or selling a property refer to the Buying and Selling Property webpage on the Landgate website to understand the process.
How to apply
Your settlement agent can arrange a Land Purchase Inquiry via the Landgate portal. If you prefer not to use a settlement agent for this, you must communicate with them directly.
After the sales contract is signed, your settlement agent can submit a Land Purchase Inquiry request to Landgate. Landgate will send all Land Purchase Inquiry applications to the City for a response.
