About the precinct

The Joondalup Learning Precinct (JLP) uses its collective influence and leadership to attract and participate in activity for mutual and community benefit in accordance with relevant member organisation protocols, governing acts and legislation. 

The Precinct is made up of the City of Joondalup and the three co-located education campuses of:

Key focus areas include:

Collaboration

  • To exploit strategic opportunities to attract resources to the region for the mutual benefit of all parties.
  • To explore and support innovative projects that capitalise on the unique qualities of the JLP.

Advocacy

  • To collectively influence government policy and priorities to advance partner imperatives.
  • To undertake activities collectively and separately, that strengthen and promote Joondalup as a Learning City in order to attract research and investment, a skilled workforce, students, visitors and residents.

Resource sharing

  • To share opportunities for workforce capability development.
  • To share infrastructure and resources where practicable to increase capability and reduce costs.
  • To share best practice in operations to provide opportunities for improved efficiency and effectiveness of member organisations.

Joondalup Learning Precinct Mentoring Program

A key initiative supported by the Joondalup Learning Precinct (JLP) Board is the JLP Mentoring Program.

Program goals include:

  • Developing individuals and improving performance and effectiveness in the workplace.
  • Providing opportunities to develop networks.
  • Strengthening inter-agency relationships and communication.
  • Providing a sustainable support mechanism for staff.
  • Supporting professional development activities.

Joondalup Learning Precinct Board

Joondalup Learning Precinct Board members are representatives of the partner and supporter organisations who have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work in collaboration to:

  • Cooperate and contribute to the development of the region.
  • Further develop learning pathways.
  • Cooperate with local and international industry, business, the community and other educational institutions.
  • Enhance professional development of staff.
  • Share infrastructure and facilities.
  • Develop commercial programs and activities in local and international markets.
  • Market the Joondalup Learning Precinct and partner institutions.

  • City of Joondalup: Jamie Parry – Director of Governance and Strategy, and Luke Willcock – Manager Economic Development and Advocacy
