The Woodvale Library is now the proud owner of a stunning 2.3-metre-high Christmas tree, adorned with 350 beautiful crocheted squares, thanks to the Woodale Crochet Club. After three months of planning and crocheting, the tree was unveiled on Saturday 30 November.

This masterpiece of yarn took over 400 hours of work, with members crocheting tirelessly during their Wednesday morning meetups at the library, plus additional time at home.

Each of the three “skirts” of the tree is backed by Refibre, generously donated by Dunlop Flooring, and the whole structure is mounted on a wheeled base, topped with a glowing star.
Members of the Woodvale Crochet Group hope you find as much joy in seeing the tree as they did in making it.  Pop into Woodvale Library between now and our Christmas closure to see this beautiful tree.

If you enjoy crocheting, you can join the group every Wednesday morning at 9.30am at Woodvale Library.
