Climate Change Strategy
The City of Joondalup’s commitment to building a more liveable and resilient City is reflected in the Climate Change Strategy which laid the foundations for the City to implement innovative solutions, environmental community education, sustainable resource management and community involvement projects.

Community focused initiatives aim to adapt and mitigate against environmental impacts of climate change, rapid urban growth and increasing heat-island effect.

Reading Ready
The Reading Ready program aims to build the reading skills of children and to empower parents to support children in their learning journey. The City recognises the important role literacy has in life, and how low literacy levels can create barriers to community participation.

Launched in 2024 with support from a Better Beginnings Family Literacy Grant, the program facilitated the development of 44 Reading Ready packs and 68 Reading Ready mini packs across all four library branches.
