Annual General Meeting of Electors

The City of Joondalup is required by the Local Government Act 1995 to hold an Annual General Meeting of Electors once every financial year. Additionally, an Electors’ Special Meeting can be requested by 300 electors. The last Annual General Meeting of Electors meeting was held in the Council Chamber on Tuesday 5 March 2024.

Procedures for electors’ meetings

View the procedures to be followed at electors’ meetings are determined by the Presiding Member, in accordance with regulation 18 of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996 below.

How to submit general motions

Any motions to be moved at the Annual General Meeting of Electors’ should be received in writing by the City by 9am on the Friday immediately prior to the scheduled AGM.

Please note:

  • Preference will be given to those electors that submit motions in writing by the required time. 
  • Guidance on writing motions can be provided to residents/ratepayers prior to the submission deadline on 9400 4000

The deadline for the submission of written questions is 9am on the Friday immediately prior to the scheduled AGM.
